Job Grading and Remuneration Framework

This section will provide the explanation of the updated remuneration framework and introduction of the Job Grading framework.

Job Grading

SWIFT jobs will be classified into 3 grades, ranging from G1 to G3 to better identify the skills required and type of job.

The grade is determined by the Project Lead and SWIFT coordinator before the posting of the job and it is based off but not limited to these attributes:

Complexity of the task or job

Responsibility required to handle the job

Level of Leadership required

Level and range of Skill

Level of Qualification

Expected Outcomes determined by the project leads

  • G1

Lowest Complexity Jobs that has low skill barriers to entry (e.g. Laborious Manual Work, Data Entry)

  • G2

Mid Complexity Jobs which require some skills (e.g. Help Desk, Testing, Lead Roles, Low to No-code Apps Development)

  • G3

High Complexity Jobs which require a higher level and set of skills (e.g. Coding, UI/UX, Design, Policy, Leadership)

Rank Progression

With the changes above, the SWIFT ranking promotion will now base on the specific hours contributed on a particular Job Grade. This is to better identify the students who have significantly contributed and made an impact to the NUS community.

There will be no yearly reset to the ranks obtain moving forward and the student will only need to have a minimum contribution of 50hrs (in any Job Grade) within a year to maintain the rank that they have obtained.

The promotion cycle will now happen only once every 6 months (31st Jan & 31st July)
