Networks and Connectivity
NUSNET is the campus-wide network that inter-connects buildings, departments, and users together, covering Kent Ridge campus, Bukit Timah campus, Outram campus and NUS High School.
nVPN (NUS Virtual Private Network) allows eligible individuals to securely access NUS resources remotely from any internet source as if they were directly connected to the campus network.
eduroam, or EDUcation ROAMing, is a WiFi (Wireless LAN) roaming arrangement among member institutions around the world. With eduroam, students and staff of a member institution, can make use of the credentials provided by their home institution to log on to the WiFi of another institution which is also a member of eduroam.
If you are setting up a new server or an application hosted in NUS Data Centre, you need to open up the Firewall ports for the client/server communication. We have firewalls in different network segments protecting our NUS resources.
If you are planning to set up a server, a printer or a networked device on NUS network (NUSNET) that will be providing services to the general public and/or NUS community, it is likely that you will need a static IP address for it.
