Static IP Address
Static IP address is an IP address allocated to devices (server, printer, CCTV, desktop, etc) which required an unchanged IP to provide their services or access a specific service. This IP can be obtained from DHCP or configured manually on the devices. The IP address will not be changed after power-off or reboot.
If you are planning to set up a server, a printer, or a networked device on NUS network (NUSNET) that will be providing services to the general public and/or NUS community, it is likely that you will need a static IP address for it.
There are two types of Static IP addresses available on NUSNET:
- Public IP address
- Private IP address
Your Server/Device will be part of the NUS network and is governed by the NUS Acceptable Use Policy.
Static IPs under NUS are subjected to security scans. You are expected to address and resolve any system vulnerabilities in a timely manner. Please refer to this page in Staff Portal for details.

Static IP Address is available to Staff and Visitors with a valid NUS-ID.
