Smartcard System

NUS earned the distinction of becoming the first tertiary institution in the Asia-Pacific region to have a campus-wide smart card system in 1991.

The entire campus community are issued personalized smart cards. The access card allows the cardholder to access NUS facilities such as the library, sports and recreation centre, facilities that require secure access, such as research laboratories, computer clusters, and resource centres.
