The newly digitized NUS Student Work Scheme (NSWS), was unveiled at its introductory roadshow held at the University Hall yesterday.
At first glance, Ms. Paula Januszkiewicz’s sleek hairstyle, cool fashion sense, and youthful image combined with her compelling stage presence might lead you to believe that she is a famous music pop star or media personality. Few would believe that in reality, she is actually a world renowned cyber security expert who travels around the world over 250 days of the year to speak about this subject that she is supremely knowledgeable and passionate about.
We are truly proud of our NUS students who walked away with the top 3 prizes in the “Build on Singapore 2019” hackathon yesterday! NUS IT, together with AWS and Govtech, organised this inaugural event which saw students from post-secondary institutions participating in this competition. This is a nation-wide initiative from NUS IT to bring the world to the classroom for students, and lead in harnessing IT in higher education.
We’re honoured that NUS is the first university in Singapore to actively incentivise its own students to hone their hacking skills through a bug bounty challenge. We’re also the only university outside of the US that HackerOne has partnered with, to empower students to secure the campus.
