IT Infrastructure Frontiers 2021
12 Oct 2021
On the 6th of October, NUS IT was invited to participate in Jicara Media’s IT Infrastructure Frontiers 2021 Panel “IT Infrastructure for the New Era of Work”.
Our Director for Infrastructure, Mr Ng Tiong Beng, shared about the University’s strategy to meet the changing needs of the COVID-19 pandemic and the reliable and secure connectivity infrastructure such as VPN, authentication services and border network infrastructure critical in enabling NUS staff and students to teach and learn remotely.
Another focus of the panel was on security, and Mr Ng shared on NUS’ expertise that ensures staff and students are securely connected and the encrypted transmission of confidential data for peace of mind across the campus.
Lastly, Mr Ng touched on NUS’ Cloud First strategy in which NUS IT adopts a hybrid cloud strategy approach. Both on-premise private infrastructure and public cloud hosting are implemented where suitable for cost-effectiveness and efficiency in delivering updates and upgrades.
Congratulations and many thanks to Mr Ng Tiong Beng and the other insightful panellists for their enriching sharing!
We are grateful to Jicara Media for the opportunity to share our expertise, as well as the fruitful discussion with Mr Dickie Widjaja (Investree) and Vinodh Balasubramanian (GlobalFoundries) moderated by Rahul Joshi (Frontier Enterprise).
