Cybersecurity Innovation, Trends & Insights Symposium 2021
09 Jun 2021
On the 8th of June, NUS IT was invited to participate in the Cybersecurity Innovation, Trends & Insights Symposium 2021, jointly organised by CSA Singapore, NUS Enterprise and TNB Ventures.
Our Chief IT Officer, Ms Tan Shui-Min, was the opening keynote speaker for the symposium. She shared insights on how technology can be dualistic in mitigating risks and yet be a source for vulnerability exploits, particularly during the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic.
With social engineering remaining a top vector for cyberattacks, Ms Tan elaborated how NUS remains as steadfast and agile as ever by exploring emerging technologies such as the Zero Trust Model and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) solutions to fill the security gap.
Lastly, she emphasised the need for organisations to pivot to accelerate their digital transformation, and implement technologies that help to secure remote working for their employees by investing in awareness and training—a key point quoted by fellow speaker Mr Michael Lew, Head of Cyber Forensics at Rajah & Tann Cybersecurity.
NUSIT’s very own Head of IT Security, Mr Ang Leong Boon, was also invited to be a moderator and facilitator of a discussion and networking session, the highlights of which he shared with fellow IT experts and professionals.
Congratulations to Ms Tan Shui-Min and Mr Ang Leong Boon for your enriching presentations that brought valuable insights to the symposium!
