NUS Student Work Scheme (NSWS) Introductory Roadshow
6 December 2019
The newly digitized NUS Student Work Scheme (NSWS), was unveiled at its introductory roadshow held at the University Hall yesterday.
Both the system and mobile application were developed by NUS IT and it allows NUS Staff to hire undergraduates & graduates students, especially those in need of financial aid, to work on part-time jobs in campus. The digitization aims to address issues such as the visibility of available jobs, pay rates, submissions and payment status, and many tedious steps, approvals and signature requirements that usually come with a manual and paper process.
Approximately 250 staff were present at the event and treated with 2 demo sessions of the new system in the auditorium. There were also stands to display the changes in policies and processes and an IT booth to tackle system related enquiries outside the auditorium.
The system development is split into 2 phases, scheduled to go live next year on 2nd Jan (Phase 1) and 24th Feb (Phase 2), with each phase aimed to solve the current challenges.
