On 24 Sept 2009, NUS staff who are using Windows Mobile device to synchronise their NUS emails were invited to a preview of the new generation of Windows Mobile operating system (OS), i.e. “Windows Mobile 6.5”. This was made possible because Computer Centre was invited by Microsoft to participate in the invitation-only Windows Mobile 6.5 Early Access program (EAP). On 1 Sept 2009, Microsoft announced that Windows phones with 6.5 OS would be launched on 6 Oct 2009.
