Smartcard System
NUS earned the distinction of becoming the first
tertiary institution in the Asia-Pacific region to have a campus-wide smart card
system in 1991.
The entire campus community are issued personalized
smart cards. The access card allows the cardholder to access NUS facilities
such as the library, sports and recreation centre, facilities that require
secure access, such as research laboratories, computer clusters, and resource
centres.
Personalize Identification Number (PIN) is associated
with the smart card.
The cardholder can use the PIN to access several
eServices and gain access into designated areas (e.g. Computer clusters, offices,
laboratories, etc.).
Who can use it?
Smartcard System is available to Staff, Students and Visitors.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost to use the Smartcard System. However, there is a cost for the replacement of lost card.
How do I get it?
Staff Card: Office of Human Resources (ohrsharedservices@nus.edu.sg) will request the card for new staff.
Student Card: Registrar’s Office (regenquiry@nus.edu.sg) will request the card for new students.
Library Card: NUS Libraries (clbbox2@nus.edu.sg) will request the card for external members.
