There is a long list of application software that are currently installed in our HPC-AI systems. As our user base grows, we see a potential issue in keeping up with the growing number of software that our users need. One solution is to let the users bring in their own applications and run it in our HPC-AI clusters and a way to do this in a consistent manner is to use containers.
On the 6th of October, NUS IT was invited to participate in Jicara Media’s IT Infrastructure Frontiers 2021 Panel “IT Infrastructure for the New Era of Work”.
On the 26th of September 2021, our NUS IT Management Team embarked on a gruelling and tiring 3km run, under the RunNUS 2021 event hosted by our NUS Students’ Sports Club, to raise funds for the Disabled People’s Association and Singapore Disability Sports Council.
We are proud to announce that our Chief Information Technology Officer, Ms Tan Shui-Min, has been shortlisted for CIO of the Year at the Women in IT Asia Awards 2021! This award recognises a female CIO who has demonstrated innovation and IT excellence.
We are proud to announce that we are a finalist at the iCXA (International Customer Experience Awards) 2021 in the category “Business Change and Transformation – over 10,000 employees” for the NUS IT Shared Service Staff Professionalisation transformation initiative which comprised a multi-pronged strategy that optimised and centralised our IT services.

We are proud to celebrate the achievements of 17 of our NUS IT colleagues who have been honoured at the National Day Awards 2021. The National Day Awards recognise various forms of merit and service to Singapore, and are awarded by the Prime Minister’s Office.

We are delighted to announce that Mr John Yap (Senior Manager) and Mr Gan Ju-We (Systems Analyst) from NUS IT have been awarded the NUS Annual Digital Education Award (ADEA) 2021 alongside team members Dr Fung Fun Man and Dr Lam Yulin from the Department of Chemistry, as well as Ms Maria Goh from the Centre for Instructional Technology (CIT) for their work on the Nucleophile’s Point of View (NuPOV) application.
