Tiktok Instagram Cyber Security Video Challenge
Calling social media users, content creators and influencers, join our Tiktok/Instagram video challenge. Create a video that can help educate our NUS users (students and staff) and promote their safety habits on the following topics of cyber security:
Topic Category | Description |
Topic 1: Reviewing key privacy settings on social media profiles.

Be able to share to audiences’ best practices that you observe to secure your social media profiles. For example, make sure that some of the key-information about yourself is kept private and where to find such settings on your profile. |
Topic 2: Securing your home WIFI and other IoT devices.
|
Share important tips on how you can protect the flow of information from your household starting from your WIFI. Also educate audience on risks and how to secure other IoT devices such as those enabled with camera like vacuum robot, baby monitor, IP camera; or voice-enabled virtual assistants. |
Topic 3: Handling documents with personal information.
|
Keeping in mind the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), what can you share with your audience on safely handling sensitive information physically or digitally, such as your health records, passport details or IC details. |
Topic 4: General Password Management Tips.
|
Share good password management tips that you teach audiences to follow from types of passwords, tips on storing or sharing them etc. |
Topic 5: Browsing tips to avoid malware, virus and adware.
|
Share to your audience how you can prevent or protect your machine from being compromised by a malware infection, what kind of sites to avoid, files or links you don’t open/visit, or tools you can use. |
Topic 6: Protecting your mobile devices from data loss, malware and phishing.
|
With your mobile devices vast features and information stored in it, share with audiences how best you can protect the data stored on the device. What settings you can enable to ensure your backup is up-to-date, or how you can store passwords securely, find your phone if lost/stolen etc |
Topic 7: Dealing with suspicious emails, calls and SMS.
|
Share your critical points on dealing with suspicious calls, including scams received either email, call or SMS. You may also share stories as lessons learned to prevent others from making similar mistakes. |
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO?
- – Chose a topic (as per above) that you wish to create a video content.
- – In the video, present some good tips of positive security habits that you’d like to share to audiences.
- – Be creative and make your video fun and memorable.
MECHANICS:
- – Open to all students and staff.
- – Participants must submit short videos (maximum 3 minutes in length) that covers security tips from any of the prescribed topics.
- – Participants are required to hashtag their videos using the following tags:

- – Winners will be announced early January.

Deadline to submit entries is on 24 December 2021 (Friday).
IMPORTANT:
- – Participants must submit their video links through the form link below to qualify.
- – Post must be made as permanent and must not be deleted within 1 year.
PRIZES:
- – Seven (7) winners for each topic will receive a S$500 Takashimaya Voucher.
- – Twenty One (21) consolation winners to receive S$50 Takashimaya Voucher (3 consolation per topic category).
