Serious vulnerability in Adobe Acrobat and Reader (Sep 2023)

What has happened?

Adobe has reported a serious zero-day security vulnerability in Acrobat and Reader, affecting both Windows and macOS users. The vulnerability is being actively exploited by cyber attackers and could lead to system compromise and data loss/leakage.

Which versions of Adobe software are affected?

Acrobat 2020 20.005.30514 or earlier – For Windows

20.005.30516 or earlier – For macOS

Acrobat Reader 2020
Acrobat DC 23.003.20284 or earlier – For both Windows and macOS
Acrobat Reader DC
What do I need to do?

Check and ensure that you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat and/or Reader. If not, update it immediately to the latest version by selecting Help > Check for Updates from the Menu.
