FAQs

1. Log in to Zoom portal : https://nus-sg.zoom.us using your NUS account

2. On the left navigation menu, click Phone, then click the Settings tab on top.

 

3. Scroll down and you can find settings including: 

  • Call Handling (Business Hours, Call forwarding, Voicemail, etc)
  • Call Delegations
  • PIN (for hardphones)

You will need a valid NUS NUSNET account to login to Zoom:
1. Click on SSO
2. Enter nus-sg
3. Enter user email:
For staff and visitor – userID@nus.edu.sg
For student – userID@u.nus.edu
4. Enter password
5. Click Open Zoom Meetings
6. Zoom Client will be launched

1. Log in to Zoom Desktop Client
2. Click your profile icon -> Settings -> General
3. Tick “Start Zoom when I start Windows”

Zoom allows user to log in to one computer, one tablet, and one phone at a time. If user sign into an additional device while logged into another device of the same type, user will be logged out automatically on the first device.

To use Zoom Phone on mobile, install Zoom Application which is available on iOS App Store or Google Play Store.

All new Zoom Phone users will first be given Zoom Phone Basic with 6-digit extension number for internal extension to extension calling.

Once the user’s Zoom Phone is enabled with DID number for external call, the user extension number will be changed to the 5-digit number which is the last 5-digit of their DID number.

As you mobile switch from Wi-Fi to mobile carrier, your call may experience short interruption but it will auto-reconnect.

To temporarily stop incoming calls from ringing, set your Zoom status to Do Not Disturb and route the calls to your voicemail.
1. Launch the Zoom Desktop Client
2. Click your profile icon
3. Set your status to be Do Not Disturb

To turn off incoming calls during Zoom meeting:
1. Launch the Zoom Desktop Client
2. Click your profile icon > Settings > Phone
3. Tick the selection “Hide incoming call during the Zoom meeting” under your Zoom client profile

1. Sign in to NUS Zoom Portal at https://nus-sg.zoom.us
2. Click on Phone > Settings
3. Scroll down to the Call Handling section and set the following:
* Business Hours – set the business hours for calls to ring
* When a call is not answere – select “Forward to voicemail/videomail” to send all calls to your voicemail during closed hours.

If you are in a Zoom meeting using your computer, you can still make a Zoom Phone call:

a) To make the Zoom call from the same computer, your audio will be automatically disconnected from the Zoom meeting for the call, and you will need to re-connect to the audio of the meeting if you choose to re-join the meeting after your call.

b) To make the Zoom call from other device (eg. your mobile device), your Zoom meeting will not be affected at all.

 

 

During your call, click the video camera icon (Meet) on the bottom row of the in-call control buttons to elevate it to a Zoom Meeting.

You can do so by using call flip:
1. Place your call on your first device on hold using the in-call controls. The other party will hear hold music while they are on hold.
2. On your second device, launch Zoom application and click the Phone icon
3. Click the Lines tab to see the call you have placed on hold.
4. Click the hold icon to answer the call.

If Zoom application is running on the foreground on your phone, the phone will always ring when there is an incoming Zoom call. To prevent it from ringing when you phone is set to silent mode, you could either minimize the Zoom app for it to run in the background or simply lock your phone.

There is currently no retention policy set to automatically delete old recordings, voicemail, or SMS. All three of these features have unlimited storage available.

We were unable to get the ear cushion at a good price from the supplier hence we could not include it in the catalogue. You may purchase it directly from Jabra or online shopping portals.

You may choose based on your department budget and personal lifestyle preference.

Although staff with SESAMi access can purchase headsets on their own, it is recommended to go through your department administrator for ease of procurement.

The Jabra Evolve 40 purchased can continue to be used but new purchase is no longer available.
